The Southwind Institute is your opportunity to gain deeper insight into critical issues in hospital sponsored physician practices.

Building on the success of last year’s Southwind Institute – Successful Strategies for the Employed Physician Enterprise, we are again inviting selected senior health system executives and physician leaders to Nashville to discuss health system sponsored physician practices.

The Institute program will feature:

Beginning at noon on Thursday, November 6 and ending at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, a day and a half of expert speakers and audience interaction on successful operational and financial strategies for health system employed physician practices;
The popular and informal pre-conference roundtables on Thursday morning in which hospital executives will be able to learn and share from each other’s experiences on various topics of physician employment;
A quintessential Nashville musical experience following dinner on Thursday evening featuring three highly acclaimed singer/songwriters performing in the round.

Key topics to be covered include:

financial pillars of a successful employment enterprise;
assembling the optimal management team;
information technology issues for hospitals and their employed physician enterprise;
current legal and regulatory challenges; and
how quality initiatives and physician alignment interact.

One of the highlights will be a panel of three health systems speaking about their experiences and answering attendees’ questions. The panel will include a lay leader and a physician leader from each of the three systems.
